Review - The Devil in the White City

The Devil in the White City is my high school history teacher’s favorite novel, and it’s easy to see why. It takes a gripping tale about a serial killer, contrasts it with the gilded life of Chicago’s top architect, and combines the two accounts into a historical retelling that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The best kind of educational novel is the one you keep wanting to come back to.

I also read this book during a hiking trip in the Cascades, and it helped distract me from the pain of my aching feet.
